Both Interstate 25 and Hwy 85 southbound from Cheyenne have been closed due to the flooding in Colorado. Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers and WYDOT personnel will be manning the road closure gates.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol does not have an estimate for how long the closures will remain, but say that it is possible it will be a long term event.
Earlier on Friday the Loveland Fire & Rescue requested a Structural Fire Engine, a Type 6 Engine, and a Rescue vehicle from Laramie County Fire District #2. Spokesman Lew Simpson says they will send tso of those vehicles along with one from LCFD #4. They are set to depart at 3 p.m. on Hwy 85, which is allowing travel for local Colorado residents and emergency vehicles. No traffic is being allowed southbound on Interstate 25.
