Twenty-two days remain for voters who wish vote by absentee ballot in the LCCC Bond Election, according to the Laramie County Clerk’s office.
The Clerk’s office reported that as of Oct. 14, the election office had sent out more than 700 absentee ballots.
County Clerk Debra Lee reminds voters if they want an absentee ballot, they must request one from Clerk’s office. Registered voters can call the Election office at 633-4242, email the office at election@laramiecountyclerk.com , write or make their request at the Laramie County Clerk’s elections office in the Laramie County Governmental Complex, 309 W 20th St. Voters need to provide the name under which they are registered to vote, date of birth, their residential address, mailing address, and telephone number or email address.
Voters need to return their absentee ballots to the Clerk’s office by 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 7 in order for their vote to be counted. Ballots may be mailed or delivered in person. Lee recommends that mailed ballots be sent no later than Monday, Oct. 30, in order to reach the clerk’s office by the Nov. 7 deadline.
The LCCC bond election takes place Tues., Nov. 7, and polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Voters may cast a ballot at any of the county’s 13 vote centers – 10 centers are in Cheyenne and others are located at Archer, Burns, and Pine Bluffs. Qualified Laramie County residents, age 18 and above, will also be able to register and vote at a vote center.
In order to qualify for registration and voting, a person must be a U.S. citizen, resident of Laramie County, age 18 or above on Election Day, and if convicted of a felony, have had their voting rights restored. New registrants are required to present a government-issued photo ID, with a Wyoming driving license being the preferred document.
The pre-election public test of voting equipment takes place Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 10:00 a.m. Members of the public who wish to observe the testing should come to the Election office of the county clerk, located in the Laramie County Governmental Complex, 309 W. 20th St.
