Cheyenne’s 9th annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop will again bring sparkle and celebration to Cheyenne residents and visitors at the Depot Plaza on December 31, 2019. This family-friendly free event brings an estimated 3,000-4,000 people downtown to welcome in the New Year.
The festivities start with the Children’s New Year’s event at 3:00pm inside the Historic Depot at 121 W. 15th Street. Games, activities, costumed characters, and more will be offered. This Children’s New Year’s event concludes with a ball drop and brief fireworks display just for kids at 6:00pm.
Beginning at 11:30pm, gather in the Plaza for music and community anticipation as the ball drop watch begins! Then at midnight, fireworks erupt and Auld Lang Syne rings out for the New Year!
The Ball Drop’s contribution to the vitality of downtown Cheyenne is only made possible by Black Hills Energy, Cheyenne DDA/Main Street, CH Yarber Construction, West Edge Collective, Lamar, KGWN TV, the Cheyenne Depot Museum, Visit Cheyenne, City of Cheyenne, and other community partners.
