Murray Campaign: Staffer Sent Obscene Sketch to Ex-Aide

By Associated Press – 21 July ’14

The campaign of Wyoming secretary of state candidate Ed Murray has acknowledged a staffer sent an obscene sketch to someone who had been fired from the campaign.

The Casper Star-Tribune reported Monday campaign director Bill Cubin said the incident was a joke between friends and had nothing to do with Murray or the campaign.

Murray is among four people running for the Republican nomination.

The sketch was sent to Clay Long shortly after Long was fired in May. The staffer who sent the sketch hasn’t been identified. Cubin says the staffer apologized to Long.

Cubin has said Long was fired because he was belligerent and used offensive language.

Long says Cubin’s statement was malicious harassment. Long says he was fired for having lunch with a friend who worked with another campaign.
