LCSO 1-24-18
On January 22nd 2018 at approximately 5:30 pm, Laramie County Sheriff Deputies responded to a two vehicle crash in the 6500 block of Ridge Road; a Trooper from the Wyoming Highway Patrol also assisted with the crash investigation.
According to the available information at the time of the crash, a vehicle being driven by a 17 year old female was heading north bound on Ridge road when she lost control and slid sideways into the South bound lane of traffic; also in the vehicle with her was 19 year old Dakota Wright.
When the vehicle entered the South bound lane, it was struck by another vehicle being driven by 37 year old Kathleen Cassidy. Cassidy’s vehicle impacted the passenger side door area of the first vehicle pushing it into the passenger compartment.
Both the 17 year old female and her passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle and were transported to CRMC for treatment; Wright later succumbed to his injuries. Alcohol did not appear to have been a factor in the crash but poor weather conditions may have contributed to the north bound driver losing control. Cassidy only sustained minor injuries from the deployment of her vehicles airbag.
