A Cheyenne man died Sunday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Van Buren Ave. The Cheyenne Police Department reports that both vehicles were southbound near the 4000 block when the accident occurred.
“The car was in front of the motorcycle and the car was attempting to make a left-hand turn into a private drive right as the motorcycle was attempting to pass on the left thus resulting in the collision,” Lt. Rob Dafoe told KFBC.
Michael Douglas, 33, died at the scene of the crash. Detectives are still trying to determine if Douglas was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The driver of the SUV, Riggs Zuiker, 60, was not injured and no charges have been filed. The crash is still under investigation.
