Jim Gardner Talks About Being Let Go as LCCC Women’s Soccer Coach on the SportsZone [AUDIO]

Laramie County Community College fired Jim Gardner as its women’s soccer coach Monday morning.  The news came as a shock to Gardner.  He had been the coach at LCCC since the sports beginning, and in 16 years had won 234 games, and been to the NJCAA national tournament ten times.  Gardner was on the SportsZone Wednesday afternoon.

LCCC first-year AD Clark Rasmussen said in an e-mail to KFBC, “LCCC does not have a comment and will not be discussing personnel matters.”

LCCC presdent, Dr. Joe Schaffer’s comment to KFBC was very similar, “This is not a decision we take lightly or do hastily.  LCCC does not discuss personnel matters in the public to protect the individual.”
