On Friday, Cheyenne Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash near the 3800 block of Central Avenue. A Toyota Tundra was struck by a Toyota Corolla and crashed into a residence as a result of the incident. No serious injuries have been reported.
According to statements, both vehicles were traveling south on Central when the Tundra attempted to pass the Corolla. The Corolla hit the back passenger side of the Tundra, which caused it to rotate sideways and roll into a brick house, resulting in significant structural damage. The Corolla then continued south on Central at a high rate of speed.
A woman who witnessed the crash followed after the Corolla in order to record the license plate number. She followed until the Corolla drove through a red light, then returned to the scene to share the plate with officers.
The following day, the driver of the Corolla was arrested by a Laramie County Sheriff’s Deputy for an unrelated protection order violation. Additional charges related to this crash are pending. The case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Traffic Unit.
