For the second time in less than a week, local law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Cheyenne. A 19-year-old was shot and killed Saturday evening it south Cheyenne at 1008 Drew Court at around 6 p.m. Laramie County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Linda Gesell says the man died of one gunshot to the upper chest and neck area. Laramie County Community College, located about half a mile away from the scene, was placed on lockdown for over two hours due to the shooting.
Yesterday, law enforcement did issue an email with a photo of another teenager, 18-year-old Austin Daniels, asking for the public’s help in locating him for questioning. It’s not known whether the shooting was intentional or accidental. According to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle, the father of the victim says the shooting was accidental and the other person involved, who he wouldn’t identify, was remorseful.
