At midnight on Saturday, Black Hills Energy will initiate a planned de-energization of electrical lines to safely perform a switchover from the old Hilltop substation to the new Orchard Valley substation that is
part of the Ready Wyoming transmission expansion project.
This will result in a brief electrical outage, impacting approximately 4,000 customers in the Cheyenne area. The switchover work to the new substation is planned for one hour in duration, but will likely be performed in under 30 minutes.
The planned outage will impact electric service to customers in the following areas:
- West of Avenue C
- South of I-80
- East of I-25
- North of Wallick Road
Black Hills Energy will provide informational notifications to customers in the affected
areas
