Several City facilities and offices will have modified schedules for the New Year’s holiday:
City Offices
City offices will close at noon on Friday, Dec. 29, and will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.
City Council
Due to New Year’s Day falling on a Monday, Cheyenne City Council’s Finance Committee will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 12 p.m., and the Public Services Committee will meet Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 12 p.m. City Council also has a scheduled work session on Friday, Jan. 5, at 12 p.m. For more information, visit www.cheyennecity.org/minutesandagendas.
Sanitation/Trash and Recycle Schedule
Residents who would typically have trash and recycle pickup on Monday, Jan. 1, will instead have pickup on Saturday, Dec. 30. Please have containers out by 6 a.m.
Trash and recycle pick-up will remain as scheduled for Friday, Dec. 29.
Residents are reminded to break down or cut boxes to smaller than 2’ by 2’.
The Solid Waste Transfer Station (220 N. College Drive) and Happy Jack Landfill will be closed Monday, Jan. 1.
The Compost Facility (3714 Windmill Road) will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, and will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 1-2.
Household Hazardous Waste (220 N. College Drive) will be open 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, and will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 1-2.
The Sanitation Division office will be closed in line with other City offices.
Cheyenne Transit Program
Cheyenne Transit Program offices will close Dec. 29 at 12 p.m. and will be closed on Monday Jan. 1. Buses will not run during those times.
Cheyenne Botanic Gardens
The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and the Paul Smith Childrens’ Village will be closed Dec. 29 through Jan. 1.
Cheyenne Aquatic Center
The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will be closed Jan. 1. Patrons should check with Aquatic Center website (www.cheyenneaquatics.com) for open swim times.
Cheyenne Ice & Events Center
The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 and remain closed through Jan. 1. Patrons should check the Ice and Events Center website (www.cheyenneiceandevents.com) for public skating and other scheduled events.
