The Cheyenne Firefighters are in full swing with their second annual bicycle drive for the holiday season. After last year’s successful charity drive, Local 279 and Cheyenne Fire Rescue sought to make a second effort. So far the campaign is off to another great start with nearly 25 bicycles already collected. These bicycles are then donated to children in need as determined through the area school counselors. The event will continue until December 19th when the firefighters will join local leaders in the gifting event. This year, the Cheyenne firefighters have a goal to bring a little extra Christmas cheer to 100 children who otherwise may not enjoy such a gift. Bicycles can be dropped off to the Cheyenne Fire Rescue fire station #1, or special arrangements made by contacting the firefighters through their Facebook page.
