The Cheyenne Police Department is releasing crime data collected during Cheyenne Frontier Days that shows incidents have decreased across the city, while arrests increased.
The 10-day analysis contains data that was collected from July 19 through July 28 and compared across Frontier Week in 2023.
According to the data, Cheyenne Police Officers responded to 2,447 incidents – 66 of which resulted in an arrest. These numbers closely resemble data collected in 2023. There were three less incidents compared to 2,450 in 2023, and 21 more arrests.
A breakdown of CPD reports highlights which types of crimes individuals were arrested for. The list only shows primary charges associated with each arrest; however, some arrests may include additional secondary charges.
According to the breakdown, most arrests were related to active warrants and public intoxication. There were also four Driving Under the Influence (DUI) arrests, seven breach of peace, four probation and parole violations, and three related to fighting.
