The City of Cheyenne is forming a team to look into every part of the City budget and operations. The FAST Team, or Financial Analysis and Strategic Thinking Team, will be made up of all the City department directors. Mayor Rick Kaysen says the FAST Team will look at revenue, expenditures, and everything that makes up the City operations to try and find ways to come up with City savings and run more efficiently.
Kaysen says the FAST Team will probably identify areas that can save the City money right away.
City councilman Dicky Shanor says the FAST Team is important for the future of the City. Even though the City isn’t facing the financial crunch of other municipalities in the state, Cheyenne needs to be proactive.
The first report from the FAST Team will be ready in October.
