The Cheyenne South boys basketball team has been a part of a few blowouts over the last four seasons. But finally, the Bison were on the other end, as they blew out Green River Friday night on day two of the McDonald’s Classic, 67-28.
Up 19-11 after the first quarter, South scored the first 13 points of the second period. The Bison would eventually open up a 47-14 lead at the half, outscoring the Wolves 28-3 in the second. South head coach Jim Shaffer said it was the defense that sparked things tonight.
Eleven different players scored for the Bison, as junior guard Michael DeBruyn led the way with 12 points. Gabe McDonald played well off the bench, scoring ten points. Brendyn Nelson and D’Antae McCray each had nine points, as the Bison improved to 4-4 on the season. South will finish up the tournament against Riverton Saturday evening at 6 pm.
