The groundbreaking for the new Cheyenne Public Safety Building started off with a bang. The Laramie County Explosives Ordinance Unit began the demolition of the old Dinneen Building in downtown Cheyenne by blasting out the windows on the south side.
Once completed in December of 2015, the Cheyenne Public Safety Center will house the Cheyenne Police Department, Cheyenne Fire and Rescue Administration, Cheyenne Victim Services, Laramie County 911 Communication Center and the Laramie County Emergency Operations Center.
The voter-approved project is being paid for through the 6th Penny sales tax.
