At age 16, JD stepped into his first radio station in his hometown of Valentine Nebraska to apply for a part time job after his Dad refused to give him money to go out on a date. According to his Dad “if you want to date girls you’ll need money so go get a job.” It didn’t take long working at KVSH and he was hooked. After a short stint in college JD attended Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis and a few years later he enlisted in the USAF and ended up in Armed Forces Radio and T.V. After jobs in Nebraska, Ohio, Iowa, Guam, (Anderson Air Force Base) and South Dakota, he landed in Cheyenne via F.E. Warren Air Force Base.
JD has been with Montgomery Broadcasting since the fall of 1997 hosting the morning 3 hour News talk program. He and his wife Laura have three adult children, Trevor, Matt, and Kailie.
