Laramie County Sheriff’s Deputies Crack Mail Theft Case

On November 11th around 12:08 p.m., the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of mail fraud in the 2300 block of Bridger Drive. The investigation led deputies to the Menards store in Cheyenne. Menards provided photos and video of a suspect using stolen rebate checks.

In the surveillance footage, deputies observed the suspect returning to a white rural mail carrier van. The images were taken to a local United States Postal Service facility to identify the suspect, where postal personnel identified the individual as mail carrier Louis Hall.

An arrest warrant was issued for Hall, who was arrested on November 30th. Deputies also obtained a search warrant for Hall’s residence. During the search, they discovered boxes of mail that had been postdated several years ago, along with items illegally purchased.

Deputies are continuing to collaborate with postal inspectors from the Denver Field Office in this ongoing joint investigation.
