CPD 11-6-20
On November 3, 2020, at approximately 4:45 pm, CPD responded to 3769 E. Lincolnway (Verizon Wireless Store) for a report of a robbery.
An employee reported a male had entered the store and presented a note to an employee that demanded he give him a cell phone. The male then produced a knife while threatening the employee. The male then took some merchandise and fled from the store.
Responding officers were able to locate and apprehend the male within minutes. The robbery suspect was identified as Trey Watson, 29 of Cheyenne. Watson was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on Aggravated Robbery charges.
Watson had been in the custody of Cheyenne Police the previous day (November 2) regarding a forgery/fraud case, however; due to the District Attorney’s new guidelines and the Laramie County Detention Center not accepting non-violent offenders, he was cited and released at that time.
