The City of Cheyenne will host an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5 at the Cheyenne Artists Guild building, 1701 Morrie Ave., to present concepts for Phase II improvements to Lake Minnehaha, which is located within Holliday Park.
The City is proposing the following improvements:
New concrete path and lighting around Lake Minnehaha.
New picnic gazebo overlooking Lake Minnehaha.
Parking lot improvements.
Bank slope flattening at locations around Lake Minnehaha.
Storm water treatment units to improve water quality in Lake Minnehaha.
New large storm sewer from Lake Minnehaha to north of 19th Street on Duff Avenue.
The City is also looking at proposed future improvements to address localized flooding that would include the continuation of a storm sewer from Duff Avenue to Pershing Boulevard, and storm sewer(s) from Bradley Avenue to Duff Avenue.
Engineers will be on-hand during the open house to answer questions about the proposed improvements. The public is being asked to fill on comment forms at the open house.
