Just after 6:00 Thursday night, Cheyenne Police were dispatched to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian near the intersection of North College Drive and Magnolia Drive.
The pedestrian, an 86-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for care. Due to the severity of the incident, the Cheyenne Police Department’s Major Crash Unit responded to take over the investigation.
Preliminary details show the man attempted to cross North College in an unlit area. While crossing, he walked into the path of an oncoming truck. The driver swerved but was unable to avoid the collision. The driver showed no signs of impairment and remained on-scene to assist officers with their investigation.
This case remains under investigation.
