One of the strengths of the Wyoming Cowboy football team was its defense. Last Saturday, at Colorado State, the Wyoming defense gave up 35 points and nearly 400 yards of total offense to the Rams. Defensive end Esaia Bogar, who finished with 11 tackles and 1.5 TFL’s, says they know that they can better.
“Saturday didn’t end how we wanted it to, but I feel like many people, in general, might be panicking about how the game went. Personally, I think we’re still a very good team, we just have to clean up on some mistakes, and we’re going to be rolling this season.”
Bogar adds that there’s three things they are focused on this week at practice.
“Assignment. Alignment. Communication. You’ve got to get the call, you’ve got to get aligned and you’ve got to do your assignment. It’s as simple as that. If we can do those three things, we’re going to be a very good football team this year. Saturday, we didn’t do it to the best of our ability, so this week, that’s going to be one of the main focuses, where we go out and just practice.”
Wyoming has their home opener this Saturday, as they host Northern Colorado. Kickoff at War Memorial Stadium is set for 2 pm.
