Construction activities for the North City Improvements Project – Phase II will continue through December 13th. This work includes the closure of Storey Boulevard between Powderhouse Road and Converse Avenue. Construction schedules may vary depending on weather conditions and material availability.
During this period, the Board of Public Utilities will continue temporary operational changes, including opening and closing valves, to maintain water service and support the project. Customers may experience fluctuating water pressure. While some may notice lower pressure, the BOPU assures residents that all pressures will remain within industry standards.
Customers may also notice temporary water discoloration caused by these pressure changes. If discoloration occurs:
- Run cold water from a faucet for approximately 20–30 minutes.
- Start with the lowest faucet in your home, then open additional faucets one at a time, moving from the lowest floor to the highest.
- Avoid using hot water or doing laundry until the water clears to prevent sediment from entering water heaters or staining clothing.
While discolored water does not meet Cheyenne’s usual aesthetic standards, it remains safe to use.
