UPDATE: Suspicious Mail Delivered to Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office [AUDIO]

On Monday, Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray said his office received a white substance in the mail.

The office immediately contacted law enforcement, and the Herschler Building East was evacuated. Secretary Gray added his office has notified county election officials advising them to be aware of suspicious mail and to use extra precaution. Law enforcement is currently evaluating and investigating the incident.

Governor Mark Gordon released a statement, saying he’s “grateful for the multi-agency response to this incident. The FBI will be taking over the active investigation. I strongly condemn any attempt to intimidate, or cause real harm to elected officials.”

Also on Monday, Secretary of State’s Offices in Nebraska and Iowa also reported receiving suspicious envelopes in the mail. The substances in each envelope were tested and found to be non-hazardous.

More information will be released once it becomes available.
