November 5, 2015 – On the heels of the new Powerball® launch, WyoLotto™ is pleased to announce that Wyoming has joined the roster of states that have sold a million dollar Powerball ticket. The winning numbers were announced during the drawing held on Wednesday, November 4, and the history-making ticket, which matched five numbers, was purchased earlier the same day at Kik’s Chevron in Evanston.
The new Powerball launched on October 4 and introduced better jackpots, a 10X multiplier, and better odds of winning for Wyoming’s Powerball players. With a million dollar Powerball win and the tremendous success of Cowboy Draw™, Wyoming’s own game, it’s clear that lottery players are buying winning tickets from Wyoming retailers, boosting the state’s economy, and enjoying the fun and excitement offered by WyoLotto games.
The winning numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing were 2, 12, 17, 20, 65, and a Powerball of 17. The WyoLotto winner nearly split the $144.1 million dollar jackpot, but missed the Powerball number. However, the player certainly has a million reasons to feel great about matching five numbers, and the win showed just how close WyoLotto players were to celebrating a historic jackpot win for the state.
With Powerball, Mega Millions®, and Cowboy Draw, WyoLotto is heating up just as winter approaches. So far, 738,594 WyoLotto players have won a total of $8,847,874 since the launch of the Lottery in August 2014.
Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 8:59 p.m., and ticket sales close at 7:59 p.m.
