CPD 5-16-17
The fourth annual Wyoming Law Enforcement Memorial 5K run/walk will start and finish at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center on Sunday, May 21 at 9 a.m.
The 5K run will take place during Police Week and all proceeds from the run will benefit the Wyoming Law Enforcement Memorial. To honor officers who died in the line of duty, commemorative race bibs will be available the day of the race which feature the name, agency and end of watch date for each fallen Wyoming officer. Participants will have the opportunity to “run for” these officers by purchasing one of these bibs. Over 60 Wyoming Peace Officers have been lost in the line of duty, but none are forgotten.
The Wyoming Law Enforcement Memorial was initiated in 2011 as a combined effort by several Cheyenne area law enforcement agencies. A charity was organized to raise funds towards the design and production of a bronze sculpture that will honor all Wyoming Fallen Peace Officers.
Those wishing to run or walk can register at Foot of the Rockies in Cheyenne or online at Raceentry.com.
