Cheyenne Frontier Days officials have kicked off the Year of the Cowgirl by unveiling a new bronze statue at Frontier Park. CFD CEO Tom Hirsig said this statue highlights the spirit and strength of western women throughout history.
Wyoming native and sculptor D. Michael Thomas talked about creating this sculpture.
Hirsig adds this is the second statue from Thomas that sits on the Frontier Park grounds.
Frontier Days officially begins July 19th.
