Capitol Basin 26th Street Interceptor Storm Water Project Starts

The Capitol Basin 26th Street Interceptor Storm Water Project is scheduled to start on Monday, May 22, weather permitting.

The project is designed to make improvements in storm water drainage and upgrade residential water lines. The first phase of the project will close 23rd Street from Snyder to Bent avenues. This phase is scheduled to last four weeks. Detours will be posted. The project is slated to be completed in November 2017 and end at the intersection of 26th Street and O’Neil Avenue.

Funding for the $3.4 million project comes from the U.S. Economic Development Association in coordination with the Wyoming Business Council, Wyoming State Land and Investment Board, Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities, and the City’s Fifth-Penny Sales and Use Tax.

Simon Contractors is the general contractor on the project.
