LC Sheriff   6-1-17

On May 30, 2017 at approximately 6:15 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to a 911 hang up call at 202 Country West Rd Space D. During the investigation Deputies learned John Hatcher 25 years of age, had gotten into an argument with Brady Davis, also 25 years of age, over a pack of cigarettes. Four other adults were present. John Hatcher drew a pistol and ordered Brady Davis to leave the apartment but Davis refused.

Two other people present tried to physically remove Davis from the apartment but were unsuccessful. Hatcher said he felt that Davis was going to punch his fiance so Hatcher shot Davis in the left hip area. Davis continued to try and fight so Hatcher took the pistol back to his room, put it away and waited for law enforcement to respond.

No other people in the apartment were hurt as a result of the weapon discharge. Davis was transported to CRMC where he underwent surgery. His condition is unknown at the time of this release. John Hatcher was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and was transported to the Laramie County Detention Facility. The weapon used in this incident was a .25 caliber semi-automatic.
