Man Arrested after Firing Rifle, Creating Disturbance

CPD   6-12-18

The Cheyenne Police Department is investigating an incident which occurred in the 1800 block of Cheshire Dr. on June 10th.  At about 1:45 p.m., CPD officers were dispatched to a call of a shot fired in the 1800 block of Cheshire Dr.  When officers arrived, they found James Wallace, 48, of Cheyenne, had broken into a neighbor’s property by kicking open a gate after arguing with that neighbor and that Wallace appeared to be in an altered state.  While being arrested, Wallace pulled away from officers and was kicking at the door of the patrol car.  Officers determined that prior to the confrontation, Wallace had fired a round from a rifle while standing in his front yard.  The rifle round did not cause any injury.

Wallace was arrested for reckless endangering, aggravated burglary, destruction of property and interference.  This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
