Enzi 3-20-19
U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., hosted
U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta in Wyoming this week for events
focused on workforce development and mining production in the state.
On March 18, Enzi and Acosta began the visit by touring North Antelope Rochelle
Mine in Campbell County. Afterward, they traveled to Casper to tour the Wyoming
Contractors Association’s (WCA) Regional Training Center. On March 19, Wyoming
Governor Mark Gordon joined Enzi and Acosta to visit the Wind River Job Corps
Center in Riverton. Later that day, Enzi and Acosta toured Genesis Alkali, a
trona mine in Green River.
“It was wonderful to welcome Secretary Acosta to Wyoming and show him two
different types of mining and some of our important workforce education
facilities,” Enzi said. “It is a unique opportunity to have a cabinet member
spend so much time and travel so many miles from one corner of the state to the
other. I look forward to continuing to work with the administration to
implement policies that support and promote jobs in Wyoming and across the
country.”
“Thank you to Senator Enzi for hosting me to learn firsthand about Wyoming’s
mining industry and workforce development programs,” Acosta said. “This
Administration is committed to strengthening the American workforce, which
includes keeping miners safe and supporting workforce development initiatives
that help American job seekers learn work-based skills and obtain good,
family-sustaining careers.”
