Around 11:45 Tuesday morning, Cheyenne Police were dispatched to a crash involving a motorcycle near King Soopers located at 3702 Dell Range Boulevard.
The rider, a 24-year-old male from Cheyenne, sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Laramie County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and notify the next of kin.
Preliminary details show the crash occurred when the driver of a van made a left turn into the King Soopers parking lot, crossing into the path of an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcyclist attempted to brake but lost control of the bike, and a collision occurred. Investigators are examining speed as a possible contributing factor.
The Cheyenne Police Department’s Major Crash Unit responded to take over the investigation and is working to determine what factors may have caused the collision.
