A Unique Collaboration Brings Cheyenne Summer White Whiskey to Local Shelves

DDA  7-5-18

The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority has partnered with Pine Bluffs Distilling and West Edge Collective to release Cheyenne Summer, a unique white whiskey that celebrates Cheyenne’s colorful past and current renaissance. It’s a specially-blended corn, wheat and barley whiskey made from locally grown ingredients and distilled in Pine Bluffs. The project came about after DDA staff visited Wyoming Malting/Pine Bluffs Distilling during a Joint Powers meeting and facility tour. During the tour, Vicki Dugger, Executive Director of DDA, asked co-owner Chad Brown if he would be interested in creating a specially-blended whiskey for Cheyenne. With an answer of “yes”, planning began in earnest to get a unique Cheyenne product on the shelves before Frontier Days. West Edge Collective came on board to quickly create an eye-catching label that features the depot plaza arch and boot. Dugger named the whiskey and created the label’s “story” and Chad Brown and sister, Erica Unruh, crafted the product. Last Monday, DDA staff traveled to Pine Bluffs to help the distillers bottle and label the product.

Cheyenne Summer is now available for purchase from local retail outlets including Provisions Wine and Spirits. DDA encourages downtown restaurants with a license and liquor stores, along with other Cheyenne outlets, help celebrate Cheyenne by offering this limited edition, specially-crafted whiskey.
