Carnival Worker Arrested After Stabbing

The Cheyenne Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault which occurred at Frontier Park, 1210 W. 8th Ave, at approximately 10:20 p.m. on July 23. The incident began when Josiah Richardson, 18, of Cheyenne, had a disagreement regarding the carnival game at which Matthew Vicencio, 22, of Cheyenne, was working.

Officers determined that as Richardson walked away, Vicencio threw a basketball at the back of Richardson’s head and charged at Richardson. At some point in the altercation, Richardson was stabbed in the back by Vicencio. Richardson’s friend detained Vicencio, causing minor injuries to Vicencio, for which he was treated and released from CRMC.

Vicencio was arrested for aggravated assault. Richardson was treated at CRMC and released. This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
