More than 60 cows had to be rescued from a crash involving a commercial cattle hauler this week.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol responded to a distress call early Wednesday morning along Interstate 80 near Pine Bluffs. Troopers arrived on scene to discover a fully loaded cattle truck had overturned and trapped the cattle it was carrying.
The situation required swift and effective action, prompting a display of coordination and assistance from various local entities. The collaborative effort included the support of local ranchers, Laramie County Fire District #5, Brand Inspectors, Express Towing, Dr. Amy Nicodemus and additional Troopers in the area.
Through their diligent efforts, a total of 61 cows were successfully extricated from the overturned commercial vehicle, ensuring their safety and well-being.
