The city of Cheyenne and southeast Wyoming started the process of digging out after a blast of winter hit the area hard on Monday and Tuesday.
The snowblowers were out clearing sidewalks and snow plows started clearing the streets. Things should be back to a more normal schedule today with schools open after yesterday’s snow day. National Weather Service’s Richard Emanual says official snow totals varied across the region.
Cheyenne’s street and alley crews will be out today clearing snow from 23 schools within the city. Snow in the downtown area will be removed starting tonight and tomorrow night from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and will work Friday if needed. The sanitation department is also asking residents that didn’t have their trash and recycling picked up yesterday due to the weather to keep their receptacles on the curb today.
