Susan G. Komen Wyoming Shutting Down In Wyoming

Susan G. Komen Wyoming, which has been proud to serve the women and men of Wyoming for the past 20 years, announced today that they will cease operations next year. The local Affiliate of the nation’s leading breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen, will continue to serve the community over the next several months, including awarding and managing grants for local breast health programs, as operations wind down.  Information on how to apply for grant funding will be made available online at komenwyoming.org.

Thanks to the generosity of its supporters, Komen Wyoming has invested nearly $3 million locally, and impacted the lives of countless women and men. It has also served as a family of support for the thousands that participated in its annual Wyoming Race for the Cure® and other statewide community events.

“We are thankful for the generosity and support Komen Wyoming has received over the years, including at last summer’s Race,” said Komen Wyoming Executive Director Maria Medina. “The work accomplished by the Komen Wyoming team, as well as our volunteers and partners, has been instrumental in improving screening rates across the state. None of this would have been possible without our committed donor base as well.  Thank you to everyone who has been with us on this amazing journey.”

If you are looking for information or support, you may contact Komen’s national Help Line at 1-877-GO-KOMEN or visit komen.org. In addition, there are many ways to continue to engage with the larger Komen community and to continue to make a difference.  We hope that you will continue to help support this important cause.
