Case Background
On January 18th around 12:30 p.m., Cheyenne Police Officers were dispatched to a report of an assault with a knife that occurred at a residence in the 2700 block of Dey Avenue.
Officers arrived to find the male victim, 38-year-old Brian Blanche, of Cheyenne, with an apparent stab
wound. They applied pressure to the injury until medics arrived. B. Blanche later refused transport to the hospital for treatment.
Through the investigation, officers learned that a verbal altercation occurred between C. Blanche and her husband, B. Blanche, in the living room of their residence. As the argument escalated, C. Blanche reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed her husband in the stomach.
C. Blanche was subsequently arrested and booked into the Laramie County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and battery – bodily injury with a deadly weapon.
Four days later, on January 22, B. Blanche died as a result of complications from the injury. Charges related to the homicide were forwarded to the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office. C. Blanche has since been arraigned on a 2nd-degree murder charge.
