Cheyenne Police to Consider Body Cameras

Cheyenne’s police chief says he can see a day where all officers will wear body cameras. As more and more scrutiny comes down on police officers, some police departments across the nation have their officers wearing body cameras to document their actions. Cheyenne police chief Brian Kozak says there are a lot of challenges they need to address before Cheyenne officers would start wearing body cameras, including cost, and the privacy laws that are currently on the books.

Kozak says video is already being used by the Cheyenne police department, and it is a great benefit.

Kozak says they won’t start looking at body cameras for officers until after they move into the new public safety building.
