City Of Cheyenne Seeks Public Input On Chip Seal Process On City Streets

City  1-23-19

During the last two construction seasons, the City of Cheyenne has used a Chip Seal process to extend the life of streets that are in good condition.

The City of Cheyenne has now launched a web-based survey on the Chip Seal process to determine what motorists think of this street improvement process.

Chip Seal is a three-step process which includes an application of asphalt oil, then a layer of crushed rock, and then another layer of oil to an existing asphalt pavement surface. The street is then swept to remove any rock that didn’t adhere to the oil.

Motorists who have driven on the streets, or residents who live on a street that has been Chipped Sealed, are encouraged to take the survey. You can take the survey here. Please respond to this survey by February 8, 2019.
