The City of Cheyenne is looking into ways to increase revenues but is not currently considering adding another tax. The City already has a 5th and 6th penny tax, and under state law could add a 7th penny tax. Mayor Rick Kaysen says, at this point, that’s not something the City will pursue.
The City of Cheyenne will receive over $4 million from the State for this fiscal year, which Kaysen says helps. But the City will still follow through on cost saving measures that are already in place. Even with the tight budget, Kaysen says he doesn’t anticipate a cut in City services.
