Wyoming senior libero Allison Waldvogel has been named the Mountain West Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Waldvogel was named the tournament MVP at the Rumble in the Rockies this past weekend after notching 46 total digs for an average of 4.18 per set, while helping guide Wyoming over No. 14 Ohio State, South Dakota and Butler.

Waldvogel opened the tournament with a team-high 15 digs in the upset over the Buckeyes on Friday and then closed out the tournament with a season-high 22 dig performance against Butler. She collected nine digs in a sweep over South Dakota as well.

This marks the first time Waldvogel has won Player of the Week honors and first for the Cowgirl program since Erin Kirby won in October of last season.

The Cowgirls (3-0) will return to action this weekend, Sept. 4-5, as they travel to Spokane, Wash., to compete in the Gonzaga Inviational. They will play host Gonzaga at 5 p.m. on Friday and then on Saturday face Utah and Montana at 1 p.m., and 6 p.m., respectively.
