Enzi Pushes for Federal Budgeting Solutions [VIDEO]

With Congress getting ready to vote on another short-term continuing resolution to fund government, Wyoming Senator Mike Enzi decided to address his fellow Senators with a challenge to develop solutions to the federal budgeting process.

Enzi has proposed both a Penny Plan, which would cut one percent spending for three consecutive years and a Biennial budget Bill, which would allow Congress to budget over a two-year period, as possible solutions to end deficit spending.

“Sometimes as lawmakers we seem to act as if this problem is too big to solve, but it’s not,” said Enzi. “Understanding how to reach and maintain financial health is not rocket science. It merely requires exercising common sense and commitment.”

Enzi emphasized that Congress should stop deal-making and start legislating.
