On Tuesday, July 09, 2019, at approximately 0016 hrs., Laramie County Sheriff’s Department Deputies were dispatched to a crash involving a motorcycle. The single rider of the motorcycle was eastbound on Dell Range between Horizon Loop and U.S. 30 when the driver rode off the right side of Dell Range striking a delineator post and was ejected from the motorcycle. The rider was found approximately 10 feet in front of the motorcycle in the ditch. Paramedics at the scene pronounced the driver of the motorcycle deceased.

An individual passing by on Dell Range going westbound observed a single headlight in the tall grass in the ditch. The passerby exited his truck, approached the driver of the motorcycle and stood by until medics arrived on scene.

The name of the driver is currently being withheld until notification of next of kin can be made. The driver of the motorcycle is a 55 year old male. The Wyoming Highway Patrol will be assisting the Sheriff’s Department with accident reconstruction.

In speaking with the passerby, he stated there were no other vehicles on the roadway when he arrived on scene of the crash. Toxicology has been requested but will be several weeks before a report will be received. Deputies indicated they did not smell any alcohol at the scene of the crash. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet. The case remains under investigation and the name of the driver will be released as soon as next of kin has been notified.
