National Travel and Tourism Week Starts Sunday

Staff   4-27, 2016

Tourism is big business in Wyoming and Governor Matt Mead signed a proclamation recognizing it. The proclamation recognizes May 1 through 7 as National Travel and Tourism Week in Wyoming. The state is coming off a record tourism season where travelers spent over $1 billion. Office of Tourism Director Diane Shober says tourism is especially important to the state right now.

Governor Matt Mead says the tourism industry supports thousands of jobs. With the downturn in the energy industry, it’s good news that the tourism industry is strong.

A highlight of this year’s tourism season is the 100th anniversary of national parks.
