Cheyenne Mayor-Elect Marian Orr is keeping the head of the police department in place. Orr made the announcement yesterday that she asked Chief Brian Kozak to remain and he accepted the offer. Orr says Kozak has a great vision for the police department.
Orr says, under the guidance of Kozak, the police department has done a good job at reducing certain areas of crime in Cheyenne. She likes the department’s community oriented policing and says Kozak knows the difficulties of keeping and increasing the amount of officers on the street.
Orr says she will work with the city council to fill several vacant positions in the department.
