Pedestrian Killed When Struck by Van

Laramie County Sheriff’s Department   9-14, 2016

On September 13, at approximately 8:16 p.m., Laramie County Sheriff deputies responded to the 700 block of East Fox Farm Road on the report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.

When the deputies arrived in the area, they observed a white male lying face down in the middle of the eastbound lane on Fox Farm. American Medical Response (AMR) responded to the scene and then transported the pedestrian to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The driver that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene. The individual that hit the pedestrian stated he was returning home from work. He was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Express 1500 van. The pedestrian was struck with the right, passenger side of the van. The driver of the van is a local male; his name will not be released at this time.

The pedestrian has been identified as Shannon Daugherty, 33 years of age. Mr. Daugherty had a Colorado driver’s license on his person but the Sheriff’s Department shows a local address as of January of this year.

The incident remains under investigation.
