A Wyoming State Trooper is recovering with his sister after donating his kidney to her. Cheyenne Trooper Gabe Testerman underwent surgery on Tuesday to remove his left kidney, which was successfully transplanted to his sister, Angela Sundstrom.

Sundstrom, 37, has had Type 1 Diabetes since age three and a kidney transplant was recommended by doctors a year and a half ago. The Wyoming Highway Patrol says that Testerman did not hesitate to offer his kidney to his sister once it was discovered that he was a suitable match.

Both brother and sister are expected to be home within four to six days, with Testerman expected to return back to full duty in approximately six weeks.
