240 Personnel Being Added at F.E. Warren AFB

By Associated Press – 20 July ’14

A push to boost the nation’s intercontinental ballistic missile force will mean about 240 more airmen at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne.

Base spokeswoman Capt. Eydie Sakura says the new personnel will begin to arrive this fall.

Sakura says the Air Force is making substantial investments to address funding and personnel shortfalls.

As part of the move to add personnel, F.E. Warren will be getting a new helicopter operations group and operations support squadron in October.

Sakura tells the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that the other new personnel will fill a range of positions, including maintenance, security, operations and support services.

The new airmen will be in addition to the about 3,360 military members and 960 civilians who work on the base.
