The Laramie County Sheriff’s Department has made an arrest in the March armed robbery of a local credit union. Captain Linda Gesell says 43 Christopher Dean Bandstra was taken into custody in Fort Collins, Colorado. Bandstra allegedly robbed the Warren Federal Credit Union inside the Safeway store on the South Greeley Highway march 29th.
Gesell says the Sheriff’s Department used video evidence and DNA evidence to link Bandstra to the crime.
“We had some pretty good intelligence shortly after the armed robbery did occur meaning some video other than the video that was inside the bank when the robbery occurred, I won’t disclose where we got that. We were also waiting for some DNA and other physical evidence to come back. Once that was received the FBI issued the federal warrant for Mr. Bandstra.”
Bandstra was set to make an initial appearance in federal court yesterday, but that was postponed due to disruptive behavior from Bandstra. Gesell says he remains in the Laramie County jail.
